Vietnam is the most awesome place on the face of this planet.

I don't care what anyone else says. Still jetlagged and I'm already missing it. One of the best experiences of my life. Hands down.

The busy streets with 5 million scooters packed on two little lanes;
the ability to cross the street with closed eyes and all those scooters around you because it's all based on the dodge system;
the scooters loaded with more stuff than we could ever imagine packing into an SUV;
the beautifully cute girls that have tiny waists and hip-long straight black hair that cover themselves up in the sun, because they think a dark tan is ugly;
the delectable food that's supposed to give you the runs, but spared me all two weeks I was there;
the beating snake hearts, raw gall bladders and blood drenched rice liquors that are a delicacy here;
the 50 dollar grey goose bottles in the clubs that come with your own pouring service, bouncers to make sure noone messes with you and the occasional hottie that works in the club and just comes over to dance with you a little;
the 70 dollars that cover a 6 course, 20+ people christmas dinner;
the 6 dollar tip that puts the biggest smile on people's faces and has waiters running around bragging to other waiters;
the pain that makes you want to cry about how poor these people really are;
the currency that has bills ranging from 500 to 500,000 dong;
the fact that the currency is called dong;
the bargaining over 10000 dongs, which translate to 60 cents;
the pool halls that have one pool table, but 14 different girls waiting on 5 dudes;
the puffy down jackets worn in the north where 65 degree weather is considered deep winter;
the thousand year old buddhist temples that look like they will be around for another thousand years;
the 4 dollar mineral hot springs and mud baths;
the gorgeous white-sand turquoise-water beaches and deep-green forrested islands of Nha Trang;
the fresh fruit that tastes a million times better than anything you could ever get here;
the immaculate unparalleled beauty of Ha Long Bay;
the 19-year absence from my motherland that has been way too long and will never happen again.

I'm going again in January 2008 for lunar new year, if anyone wants to witness this miracle.

Love my little sister. Her fiance, not so much. But better now than before.

At least I'll have Lillian there to be "that guy" with me. Maybe I'll just be wingman for Frank and Mike M. Since they are still in school I guess it's ok for them.

My sister is visiting me in a few weeks. Of course, she had to bring 2 of her gfs to cram in my 192 sqft apartment. For a week. What was she thinking? I swear, if they stay up late, clog the bathroom, or somehow else get in my way, I will launch them off of my tenth floor apartment.

I hate sundays...can never fall asleep. anyone else feel that way? maybe we should have a sunday ritual where we all get together and drink so we can fall asleep...actually that just sounds like saturday and that's just bad news.

anyone doing anything fun lately where you get to meet new people? i finally realize how damn hard it is to find some people you wanna do more with than just drink a shot. well, andrew and i are thinking of going back to tkd, so if anyone is interested or has a better proposition, then lets hear it.

At work at 6:30AM....that sucks. Oh well, at least this way I get to ligitimately leave early. Going to Germany today!! wOOt wOoT....always wondered what woot means. Someone explain.

The next week should give more insight on what I have to do to not go back to Germany. Let's hope my lawyer in Germany is worth the money we pay him. In the meantime, I'm shopping around for a passport (aka fake wife)...anyone know what the market price is? I tried google, but came up empty. So ask around. I know, you know at least one or two people who know people involved in this sort of business! Anyways, enough crazy talk....back to work.
